Unity Care NW, which currently serves about 2,700 patients in North Whatcom County is planning an expansion in the City of Ferndale in 2019. The new 23,000 square foot facility, which would break ground off Portal Way in Ferndale, would be a $12 million expanded health center serving 9,500 patients in Whatcom County by 2021. This would provide access to medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy and lab services to residents of North Whatcom County within easy access of I-5.
“We opened our original clinic in Ferndale in 2008 and since that time, we’ve really outgrown this facility,” said Desmond Skubi, Executive Director Unity Care NW. “This new facility will provide 43,000 visits a year to the residents of North Whatcom.”
Unity Care NW is a local, non-profit health care provider that is part of a national network of community health centers. They have been providing medical services since 1983.
